Bargoed Warriors travelled to Mountain Ash for a friendly after Pontllanfraith pulled out of the WRU Bowl fixture earlier in the week. This was a keenly contested game with both sides fielding a number of youth team graduates. Both sides played an attractive brand by looking to attack with ball in hand.  Mountain Ash scored first with a well constructed try which was converted. Bargoed got back and after hooker Craig Owen went close, wing Kayne Greenslade went over for a try. Luke Ellaway went over shortly after, only to be called back for a forward pass. Half time 7-5 to Mountain Ash.....
