Llanharan 0 Bargoed 74

Bargoed's coaches rang the changes for their away game with troubled Llanharan and the selected XV responded in sparkling fashion with the Blues running in 11 tries against the Championship's bottom side.

Matthew Hurley put over a penalty after 9 minutes but it took until the 23rd minute for the Blues to register their first try with Hurley again in the action putting in a flat pass to Lewis Protheroe with the centre sending fellow centre Darren Humphries away to score. Hurley converted.

Bargoed's offloading game slipped into top gear and it became 17-0 on the half hour with Bargoed turning over Llanharan ball at a line out on their own line with lock Martin Morgan going over for the 2nd try with Hurley adding the extras.

With just 3 minutes of the half left, full back Lee Pearson ran back a clearing kick and his jinking pace caused confusion in the Llanharan defence and wing Dwane Dyer was in support to run in the 3rd try with Hurley converting to make it 24-0.

The bonus point came on the stroke of half time with second row Nicky Coughlin crossing from short range. Hurley made it four from four as the half time whistle went with Bargoed in front 31-0.

Llanharan were under the cosh from the start of the 2nd half with Dyer setting up Hurley to score in the 41st minute which went unconverted and more was to come from the restart and some brilliantly inventive rugby saw flanker Grant Rogers score the 6th try with Hurley again adding the extras to take the score to 43-0.

A penalty try added to the home side's woes with Hurley inexplicably missing the conversion in front of the posts. Nicky Coughlin's second  took the score over the 50 mark and Ross Coombes made it 60-0 coming off the back of a scrum with Hurley finding his range again with the conversion.

A spectacular solo effort from Kieron  Brown saw the prop doing a great impression of a centre running in from 30 metres and full back Lee Pearson rounded things off with the 11th try of the afternoon with Hurley putting over his 9th kick - one penalty and 9 conversions to end the game 74-0.
