Bargoed Briefs

The 1st XV travel to Llandovery RFC to face The Drovers in a SWALEC Cup tie on Saturday. Bargoed were at Llandovery earlier in the season when they were defeated 48-7. However the Blues have certainly improved as the season has developed, and will be far more confident travelling to Llandovery on the back of their recent good form in the Premiership and Fosters Challenge Cup. Although they have suffered a no. of setbacks and had a catalogue of injuries, they have shown great resolve to recover from a difficult start, and currently lie in 5th place in Tier Two of the Premiership, with a game in hand of the sides above them.

The Warriors entertain Mountain Ash at home in a Rhondda and East Glamorgan League clash, and the Youth travel to Newbridge for a Dragons League game.

Bargoed will travel to Hawick on Thursday 23rd February and play against Hawick Harlequins the following day to contest The Butters Cup in what will be the 51st year of the association between both clubs. The on field rivalry is matched with the off field warmth and camaraderie off it. If you haven't paid up for the trip yet get your money in to Aled Webb, Gary Jones or Neil Carter.

Congratulations to Duane Dyer and the rest of the 1st XV who played their part in the recent victory over Swansea, for winning the Principality Premiership Try of the Month.
