Bargoed Briefs

Bargoed RFC would like to thank outgoing Youth Team Manager Graham Mayo and Coaches Darren Lloyd and Huw Jones as they step down and take a well deserved rest, after great service over the last couple of seasons.

We also pay tribute to the WAGS who supported the players and coaching staff so well, they have also been a huge part of the journey with the boys.

Graham, Darren and Huw, along with current Coaches Ian Davies and Aaron Hughes did a great job last season in building a very talented squad.

However Graham, Darren and Huw’s investment in the development of some of those players had gone back a no. of years through the age groups at Bargoed. Thanks boys for a great effort and hope to see you and the WAGS at the club for a pint in the near future!!

Pre season training is well underway at Bargoed RFC with the seniors and youth in full swing. Training is at Bargoed Park every Tuesday and Thursday at 6.30 new players welcome.

They are not the only ones training though as the Mini and Juniors have held development sessions for all ages over the last few weeks, with lots of smiling faces under the guidance of u16’s Coach Steve Rose, as they look forward to the season ahead.

It was great to see three Bargoed u16 players selected for the Gwent Dragons u16’s training squad for the forthcoming season. Well done to Dylan Rogers, Corey Parry and Charlie Davies. There were a no. of others from this talented group that just missed out, keep working hard boys.

It was also good to see 10 of the Bargoed u15 players selected for the Rhymney Valley Schools squad and well done to Aaryn Palmer, Taylor Meades, Ellis Hall, Ethan Postians, Josh Michaels, Tom Horton, Rhys Davies, Iwan Jones, Cai Bernard and Jake Morris. Congratulations boys enjoy the experience.
