Warriors Match Report
The Warriors travelled to Senghenydd for their first League Game and had a youthful look to the side with 80% of the squad under 23, including a host of players who have just graduated from Youth rugby.
Glenn Lucas, who has been in excellent form recently captained the side this week and worked hard throughout.
The visitors made a promising start and took a commanding 17-5 lead with tries from busy scrum half Lewis Cooper and Jack Chamberlain who once again had an excellent game, impressing with his ball carrying and all round skill set. Rhys Thomas chipped in with a penalty and two conversions.
The Warriors looked comfortable but slowly the home side got themselves back into the game and eventually overturned the lead to sneak home 18-17.
There was some excellent rugby on show with this young Bargoed side intent on an attack focussed game, whilst continuing to grow in stature and experience.
There were excellent numbers training this week and with 25 players available last Saturday and with a number of players injured or unavailable it bodes well for the rest of the season.
