Youth Match Report

Bargoed faced Caerphilly at home in a Dragons League game, and came away with deserved 22-11 win to make up for the loss against the same opponents earlier in the season.

The squad are growing as a group and working hard with the coaches to deliver in their game plan, with attacking ambition. This squad have a real desire to play an entertaining and attractive brand of rugby. This was evident early on with their willingness to attack with ball in hand.

The Bargoed pack played their part to enable this to happen, and provided a great platform with a good set piece. Although conditions weren’t great the hosts displayed great skills with forwards and back linking effectively, against a well organised  Caerphilly outfit.

Bargoed closed the game out against their resilient opponents who continued to challenge to the end. However Bargoed defended with pride and passion to keep the visitors out and hold on to a well deserved win.

Man of the Match was full back Jamie Lloyd who showed attacking flare and looked dangerous every time he had ball in hand.

Bargoed scored four tries through Taylor Meades, Rhys Davies, Cai Barnard and Ellis Hall.

Charlie Williams kicked one conversion.

Next week sees Bargoed Youth head over to play Mid District side Gilfach Goch in the next round of the National Plate Competition.
