Well done to Bargoed RFC club legend and ex Captain Leigh Meades, who was recognised by the club this week for his contribution as a player and coach with the Senior squad over a 15 year period.

Leigh retired from playing in 2019 and moved into coaching with the Senior squad in season 19-20. Work commitments hampered his progress in coaching but now he has moved over to work with an exciting Youth squad, which will also include his eldest son Taylor, a talented back rower in his own right.

He has been a fantastic servant of Bargoed RFC on the field with outstanding leadership and under his watch as Captain the club progressed through the National Leagues into the Championship and finally into the Principality Premiership.

Well done Skipper, thanks for some fantastic memories from all at Bargoed RFC.
