Both senior sides and the Youth got their first pre-season hit outs on Saturday.
The 1st XV entertained RFU National League One outfit
Dings Crusaders and came away with an excellent 47-19 victory with three 30 minute sessions.
There were tries for Ash Norton, Jonny Wright, Charlie Williams, Dan Powell and a double for Matthew Lewis.
Bargoed played some excellent rugby and there were opportunities for players to shine and push for selection throughout the game.
The Warriors welcomed Division Two West Central side Bryncethin, and went down 34-17. However there were plenty of positives playing against a well drilled side.
There were tries for Leon James and Jack Higgs and the Warriors outplayed a side three leagues above them for periods of the game with their physical dominance, but failed to capitalise on this.
There were a few players injured and not available for selection so some players had to play out of position such as prop Lewis Jones at tight head and Greg Callow at loose head. It was good to also see some youth players making the transition into senior rugby.
There were strong performances from Brad Crossman , Kyle James and new signing James Chard amongst a number of others.
The Youth played Risca and came away with a 59-5 victory.
Players of the Match were Tyler Rees and Morgan Marrozelli.
Big thanks to the Match Officials who officiated in all three games.
