Great news with rugby returning to Bargoed RFC with the recent announcement by the Welsh Rugby Union that competitive matches will start on Saturday 7 August.

Bargoed have two senior sides and a youth side who will all be competing in the various WRU competitions from August.

The Mini and Juniors have already returned to training with great numbers and a fantastic response from all the coaches and management in difficult times.

It’s been really encouraging to also see great numbers training with both the seniors and the youth squads. Indeed there are a number of players moving up from youth rugby into the senior game and these have been training well over the last couple of weeks.

With the recent announcement of a change in the age banding in Youth rugby, Bargoed RFC also intend seeking games at under 21 or under 20 level to assist the transition and provide a pathway into senior rugby.

Bargoed are looking for fixtures for the 24 and 31 July as warm ups for both the 1st XV and 2nd XV with the opportunity to blood some promising young players, and see some of the senior players in action for the first time in 15 months.
