Bargoed RFC have received confirmation of the WRU league competition structure for next season.

The 1st XV will compete in the new Community Premiership league at the top of the community game. 

The Warriors will be playing in National League Division 6 East next season. 

Everyone at the club are excited about the new developments and challenges that both sides will face next season. 

It’s great news for the Warriors who have completed all the relevant criteria to achieve a slot in Division 6 East with rivals Brecon Athletic included along with local rivals New Tredegar RFC and Penallta Athletic RFC. 

The new coaching team of Steve Lewis, Phil
Osborne and Ian Jenkins are looking forward to the opportunity to play in the National Leagues with the aim of progressing with a young but talented squad of players. 

Chairman Neil Carter stated ‘This is a historic day in the history of Bargoed RFC as we will see two sides competing in the National Leagues next season. 

The players and coaches will have some well deserved time off before we start pre season training. However there is a great vibe about this positive news around the club, so let’s get excited and hope that both sides can be successful in their respective leagues next season’
