There were no games for the 1st XV and the Youth this week, but the Warriors were in action with a Division 5 East top of the table clash at home to unbeaten Hafodyrynys RFC.
The visitors had all the early pressure but excellent defence from Bargoed held them out.
The Warriors managed to get into the Hafod 22 and pressure resulted in them conceding a penalty and Charlie Williams stepped up and converted it after 15 minutes.
It was clear to see that there were two contrasting styles of play with Hafod keeping it tight and Bargoed looking to play more expansively.
Bargoed had a period of pressure and stretched the visitors defence to enable prop Jake Thomas to crash over and make it 8-0.
The visitors looked to strike back with their heavy and powerful pack using their well organised scrum and driving line-out.
The Warriors defended stoically and managed to turn defence into attack and impressive second row Morgan Small crashed over for a try.
Bargoed continued to stretch the visitors defence and hard working back rower Jason James scored a well deserved try which Charlie Williams converted and Bargoed led 20-0.
Bargoed scored again when Adam Jones crossed for the bonus point try and Charlie Williams converted to make it 27-0 at half time.
The second half saw Bargoed come out firing but the visitors were not in the mood to roll over and defended well.
Bargoed continued to stick to their expansive approach and Owain Cooper was next to score and Charlie Williams again converted.
The visitors hit back with a converted try and again pressurised the hosts but Bargoed managed to clear their lines.
They moved the ball well and wing Dan Birt finished superbly in the corner for a try and Bargoed led 39-5
Nathan Jones was deservedly next to crash over for a try converted by Charlie Williams. This was Nathan’s first game in a while. He came off the bench and made a great impact.
The visitors scored a converted try to reduce the lead and it was 51-12 to the hosts.
However Bargoed mounted another attack and the final score came with a try from Joey Hall to make the score at the end 56-12 to the Warriors.
Bargoed will be pleased with this performance against a well organised and experienced side, as they now sit top of the table
